Kai Membership Education
The Fraternity of Alpha Kappa Lambda believes in the development of the whole man
as a guiding principle in our membership education program. Such development can not
occur in a one semester pledge program. Effective membership education requires the
development of the individual throughout his college career.
Alpha Kappa Lambda's membership education program, Kai, is a multi-tiered program
that encompasses the member's entire undergraduate experience.
NEW MEMBER EDUCATION
- Comprehensive pledge program
- Education focused on the Five Ideals of the Fraternity
- Structured educational programming each week
- Unity building activities
- Focus on time management
ORDER OF ALETHIA
Requirements for individual Recognition:
- One semester at host institution
- 2.25 cumulative GPA
- Participate in "hands-on" community service
- Attend or facilitate chapter education program
- Active in at least one campus extracurricular activity
- Must exhibit an understanding of chapter operations
ORDER OF LOS AMIGOS
Requirements for individual Recognition:
- Five semesters at host institution
- Attain Order of Alethia
- 2.50 cumulative GPA
- Participate in "hands-on" community service
- Facilitate chapter education program
- Active in at least one campusextracurricular activity
- Serve as an officer or committee chairman
- Must exhibit an understanding of membership in a national fraternity including alumni responsibilities
- Attend an AKL Regional Leadership Conference
KAI
- Inspires an educational atmosphere
- Develops effective leaders
- Prepares the members of Alpha Kappa Lambda for an "Affiliation Binding for Life"
- Fosters service to the university as well as mankind
- Builds better men
The Greek word, kai, carries many meanings. For Alpha Kappa Lambda, its true meaning is revealed only in the ritual.
